How to change your life - and what's been stopping you. Let's talk overcoming barriers.
Let's wave the proverbial wand, and start fresh next week. It's the life you want.
What are you doing in this new life?
Perhaps:
A better role - where you're respected, appreciated, safe, paid well.
Portfolio career - multiple board roles, passion projects.
Out of corporate and into consultancy.
Out of consultancy and into a great corporate role - benefits!
WHY do you want that new life?
When we think about what’s next, we want it because there is:
REST. SPACE.
Breathing room.
A chance to BE.
AUTONOMY.
Space to mentor, serve, and give back.
Time to seek systems change.
Joy.
On the other side of thought leadership, leveraging a strong personal brand, is the life you want. So many examples, proof points exist.
The problem IS NOT your lack of desire to put yourself out there.
You’re stuck. One of these tough barriers is keeping you from engaging:
Fear of what others will think of you, missteps, uncertainty - frozen.
Unsure you have anything original, valuable to offer
Following someone’s (expensive) formula - the hacks, tricking algorithms wasn’t authentic or enjoyable. AND - it didn’t work.
You just need a simple framework to follow
Or you still have (like me) a difficult time sitting down to focus on this because you’re doing a million things.
You’re burned out. With little to give, you can’t fathom trying to add this onto your plate.
HERE'S THE MAGIC.
WHAT YOU NEED: A buddy.
There’s something transformative when you and a friend - anyone on a similar journey that you can trust and will keep you accountable - engage in partnership to move you forward.
You have to build a tiny record of safety, success.
AND - you'll figure it out as your feet are moving. Every question on thought leadership you can come up with.
I did it on my journey.
I didn't let a poor headshot hold me back (just in the last year got my own)
I didn't let fear of what others think hold me back.
BUT... it took years longer than it should have. I lost valuable time, shoe-horned into a life that kept me very small.
The Magic is having a partner, a buddy.
Yes, you can pay someone, join a program. BUT you absolutely don’t have to. Power is found in partnership and consistency. The MUST is to find a buddy, and determine you two will go the distance, and change your trajectory together.
Life-changing ACTION - do this now:
Per the Mel Robbins 5-Second Rule, don’t talk yourself out of action. Uncertainty destroys dreams.
PLAN A: BUDDY POWER!
Pick up the phone, text a friend NOW and ask them to meet this week. Tell them it's all about accountability, and while no one has time to add more to their plate, this work can't wait. And together, you'll make it so much further than you ever could alone.
And please DM me - I'll share resources to help you and your buddy have insight and steps to move forward!
PLAN B: PARTNERSHIP AND GUIDANCE
